The Kawarthas is the birthplace of the modern canoe and home to numerous lakes and rivers. It's an outdoor playground begging to be explored. Whether you are exploring numerous the lakes and rivers, hanging out at the cottage, boofing off drops into deep pools of water or linking ends in a fluffy foam pile, the Kawarthas have a wide variety of paddling disciplines to experience.

Kevin Callan describes some of his favourite canoeing routes in the Kawarthas, including Kawartha Highland Park, Serpentine Loop, Long Lake Loop, Eels Creek, Mississauga River, Crab Lake, Wolf Island Provincial Park, and Silent Lake Provincial Park.
