Why We Partner With Kawartha Land Trust

Kawartha Land Trust (KLT) is the only non-government charitable organization committed to protecting land, conserving the natural environment and enhancing the quality of life in the Kawarthas. They currently protect 22 properties comprising more than 4,700 acres of important, diverse types of land. On some of these diverse natural properties are trails open for the public to get out and connect with nature!
With the community's support, the Kawartha Land Trust continues to secure and manage sensitive natural areas in the Kawarthas. There are a variety of ways you can help KLT protect and preserve land in the Kawarthas forever. Whether it’s through a single or monthly donation, planned gift or gift of land, or with a gift of time by joining our team of volunteers, you can help to protect the land you love! About the Dance Nature Sanctuary
The Dance Nature Sanctuary was donated to Kawartha Land Trust (KLT) in 2006 and anchors KLT’s Moore Lake Focus Area. It includes a portion of the provincially significant Moore Lake Wetland Complex, and Lakefield Crevasse Fillings, an Earth Science Area of Natural and Scientific Interest. The Fillings are part of the Lake Wisconsinan glacial deposit which also created the Dummer Moraine, immediately to the south. A wide variety of plants grow on this property and its wildlife habitat, including fields, forests, marshes and swamps, are home to many different animal species.

*Let's be clear: At Wild Rock and KLT, we invite and welcome all women -  trans women, genderqueer women, and non-binary people who are significantly female-identified. This workshop is built to create more space for women in the outdoors and help them feel safe and stoked about camping and paddling.

**We believe everyone should have access to the outdoors. To make sure that can happen, we have 4 subsidized spaces reserved specifically for those with low or insufficient incomes. Please send an email to tori@wildrock.net with a request for a space if you or someone you know is keen to attend but unable to pay the full entry fee. These spaces will be first-come, first-served.
