The Peterborough Parkinson’s Support Group (Lanny Thomas), the On The Move! Exercise Program for People with Parkinson’s at Trent University (Liana Brown), and Wild Rock Outfitters invite everyone to attend a Welcome Celebration for the Spinning Wheels Tour happening this Monday, August 22, from 1:30 pm until 3 pm in the back parking lot at Wild Rock Outfitters, 169 Charlotte Street, Peterborough, ON, K9J 2T7. 

The Spinning Wheels Tour is a group of 4 friends (3 cyclists living with Parkinson’s and 1 dedicated RV driver) who are cycling across Canada to bring awareness to the benefits and importance of regular exercise for people living with Parkinson’s and generate funds for regional Parkinson’s programming –, IG: @spinningwheelstour, Donations: 

In Peterborough, the regional program benefitting from the Tour is the On The Move! Parkinson Exercise Program located at Trent University. On The Move! trains undergraduates in kinesiology and psychology to provide evidence-based exercise as part of a free, weekly program for people living with Parkinson’s in the Peterborough and Kawartha Lakes region. If you like to cycle, you are welcome to ride with The Tour as they approach Peterborough. The Tour will follow this route: and members of the Peterborough and Kawartha Cycling Clubs will join up with the tour in Millbrook (25K ride) or in Stewart Hall (10K ride) to cycle into Peterborough together. The tour will stop at Wild Rock Outfitters (1:30 pm), where everyone is welcome to come meet, greet and exchange inspiration with the Spinning Wheels team, purchase one of their super-cool cycling jerseys, drop-off donations, and hear our inspiring speeches!
